Current Status of Adam Smith University in Liberia

Adam Smith University has not been offering any instruction or degrees in Liberia since December 2007. When construction of our first classroom building on our new campus in Liberia is completed, Adam Smith University of Liberia intends to apply for permission from the Ministry of Education and other regulatory authorities in Liberia to resume instruction and conferral of degrees in Liberia. According to a letter received from the then Director General of the National Commission on Higher Education in Liberia in September 2005, all degrees that had been offered (in Liberia) will be recognized in keeping with the provisions of the Charter and the National Policy on Higher Education. Construction was started on April 22, 2007 on the first building on the new campus of Adam Smith University on land that was acquired for the use of the university in Monrovia, Liberia. This first building will include classrooms, a library, administrative offices and an auditorium. This new building on this new campus of the university will permit the university to offer courses in Liberia in a traditional classroom environment as well as to facilitate the offering of distance learning and independent study from this campus. Students will have available use of computers and other instructional aids as well as a library of books and CDs for research. | |||||
